MCV and Volvo Celebrate the Inauguration of New Electric City Bus Facility in Egypt for the European Market.
Manufacturing Commercial Vehicles (MCV) proudly celebrated the inauguration of its new factory in Salheya, in partnership with Volvo Buses. Dedicated to producing electric city buses for the European market, this marks a significant milestone in MCV’s journey toward sustainable transportation and industrial growth.
The ceremony was hosted by Eng. Karim Ghabbour, President of MCV, together with Anna Westerberg, President of Volvo Buses, and attendant by distinguished guests including His Excellency Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transportation of Egypt; Engineer Hazem Al-Ashmouny, Governor of Sharkeya; Dag Juhlin-Dannfelt, Ambassador of Sweden to Egypt; senior representatives from both companies; officials and representatives from various European countries; as well as members of the Egyptian and international press.
The program featured speeches that highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership between MCV and Volvo, the joint commitment to sustainability, and the role of Egyptian manufacturing in supplying advanced electric city buses and mobility solutions to European markets.
Guests later participated in a guided tour of the state-of-the-art facility, where they observed first-hand the advanced production lines and innovative technologies designed to meet the highest European standards.
